WARWICK, RI – Congressman Jim Langevin (D-RI) today announced that Lt Governor Elizabeth Roberts will be his guest for the Joint Session of Congress on Wednesday evening. During his address, President Barack Obama is expected to speak about the great need for passing health care reform this year. “The time I spent traveling around my district and talking to constituents during August has only strengthened my resolve for passing thoughtful, comprehensive health care reform that maintains the employer-based health care system, contains costs, improves quality and increases access to a variety of plans,” said Langevin. “Tomorrow evening I look forward to hearing the President’s goals for reform as the health care debate in Congress resumes this month. Also, I am hopeful that Lt. Governor Roberts and I can continue to work together on both the state and federal levels to bring improved health care to all Rhode Islanders.” “I am honored to be invited by Congressman Langevin to join him in Washington at this historic moment when President Obama will address the nation about the real need for health care reform,” said Lt.
