PROVIDENCE, RI (June 3, 2009) -- Rhode Island businesses can learn all about the potential of social networking at a free workshop sponsored by Secretary of State A. Ralph Mollis and the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation (RIEDC).
"Social Networking 2.0" is scheduled for Thurs., June 4, from 9 to 11 a.m., at RIEDC, 315 Iron Horse Way, Providence. John Speck, senior consultant at New Commons, will show you how to use new communications tools such as blogs, Facebook and Twitter to promote your products and services.
Speck has spent more than 15 years working in organizational communications and enterprise technology. In December 2007, he began presenting his Web 2.0 seminar at New Commons and has since given it regularly both in-house and as a guest speaker for groups like Brown University's John Nicholas Brown Center for the Public Humanities and Cultural Heritage.
The seminar is offered through “We Mean Business,” which is a joint venture between the Secretary of State’s First Stop Business Information Center and Every Company Counts, an initiative of RIEDC. We Mean Business connects business owners with local, state and federal agencies and non-profit organizations that impact business.
