PROVIDENCE, R.I. (May 14, 2009) - A group of state and federal business leaders will be in Pawtucket tomorrow to ask small business owners what tools they need to survive and succeed in today’s challenging economic environment.
Secretary of State A. Ralph Mollis, Mark Hayward of the U.S. Small Business Administration and John Cronin of the R.I. Small Business Development Center at Johnson & Wales University will visit half a dozen small businesses ranging from a web design and consulting company to a family-owned restaurant.
The tour will begin at 10 a.m. at Embolden Design, 545 Pawtucket Ave., Unit C105, and conclude at 1:45 a.m. at the Rosinha Restaurant, Hope Artiste Village, 999 Main St., Unit 708.
In between, Mollis and the group will stop at a jewelry design firm, a medical products manufacturer, a creator of children's educational toys and an e-mail marketing firm.
As Secretary of State, Mollis touches every company registered to do business in Rhode Island -- some 65,000 in all. His office also oversees recording commercial liens, protecting corporate trademarks and providing advice to start-up businesses.
Secretary of State Mollis is committed to making it easier to vote, helping businesses grow and making government more open and accessible. For more information about the programs and services the Secretary of State offers Rhode Islanders, visit www.sec.state.ri.us.
