Calls for Immediate Implementation of Recommendations in the EDC Review Panel Report
PROVIDENCE— Lt. Gov. Elizabeth H. Roberts issued the following statement today regarding the recommendations of the Governor’s Economic Development Corporation Review Panel.
"I have seen a wealth of well-developed economic development plans for Rhode Island, but I have rarely seen a well-executed economic development plan for Rhode Island. These structural reforms are long overdue and I applaud the Economic Development Corporation Review Panel for their work. It is imperative that the restructured Economic Development Corporation establish clear numeric economic development goals and then focus exclusively on producing tangible results. The urgency of this work cannot be overestimated given the economic challenges confronting our state."
