PROVIDENCE— Lt. Gov. Elizabeth H. Roberts, Chair of the Small Business Advocacy Council (SBAC) announces a statewide logo design competition for Buy Local RI, the economic development initiative to support independent Rhode Island businesses and organizations.
The competition is open to anyone who resides, or is employed in Rhode Island, and up to three pro-bono logos per person may be submitted for consideration. The winning design, chosen by the Buy Local RI Workgroup, will receive statewide exposure, and be prominently featured on all Buy Local RI marketing materials and the website.
Anyone interested in submitting a design logo should refer to the Buy Local RI page on the Lt. Governor’s website http://www.ltgov.ri.gov/buylocalri/ for competition rules and additional details. The deadline for submission is February 16, 2009, at 10:00 a.m.
Buy Local RI launched last November with a public awareness campaign, encouraging Rhode Islanders to support our local businesses by shopping locally for the holidays. The initiative continues to promote shopping locally throughout the year, and has also created a working group which is in the process of developing a website dedicated to expanding the market for local businesses and products by connecting people to Rhode Island businesses
