Dyer Avenue Bridge over the Pocasset in Cranston to be restricted to maximum of 18 tons

On Friday, January 23, a crew from RIDOT’s Highway & Bridge Maintenance division will place barrels to narrow the roadway of the Dyer Avenue Bridge over the Pocasset River in Cranston, and will erect signs limiting the weight of vehicles on the bridge to 18 tons or less. Posting the bridge at a limited weight was deemed necessary due to recent inspection findings.

The bridge is located on Dyer Avenue, less than one-fourth mile north of Park Avenue (Route 12). The most recent traffic flow statistics, from 2007, show that 14,200 vehicles per day travel across the bridge.
