Statewide Small Business Network and Website to be Developed
PROVIDENCE— Lt. Gov. Elizabeth Roberts, Chair of the Small Business Advocacy Council, will meet with small businesses to move forward with the formation of a Buy Local RI organization, Wednesday, January 7th, at 2:30 p.m. at the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation in Providence.
Buy Local RI, the statewide initiative to grow sales and customer base for locally owned businesses, launched last November with a public awareness campaign, encouraging Rhode Islanders to support our local businesses by shopping locally for the holidays. Buy Local RI will now develop a more permanent organization and develop a website dedicated to expanding the market for local businesses and products by connecting people to Rhode Island businesses.
