REPLACEMENT OF WELL #1, ESSENTIAL TO ENSURE THE DISTRICT'S ABILITY TO PROVIDE GOOD QUALITY WATER TO ITS CITIZENS
PROVIDENCE - Through the Rhode Island Water Resources Board Corporate's RI Public Drinking Water Protection Program, the Harrisville Fire District (HFD) will complete the replacement of their Well #1. This successful program assists HFD to accomplish the design, construction and installation tasks associated with replacing well #1. In addition, ensure's the District's ability to provide good quality water to its citizens and will help bring back HFD's water system to its fundamental design position to meet its maximum day demand.
This project is a necessary water quality improvement to HFD water system which further protects the publics' health and welfare and is part of HFD's ongoing mission to protect the system's water supply quality.
The Rhode Island Water Resources Board Corporate will present a check for $24,915.00 through the RI Public Drinking Water Protection Bond Program.
Participating in the announcement will be HFD Chairman Donald Mehrtens; RI Water Resources Board General Manager M. Paul Sams; Burriville Town Manager Michael C. Wood among other local dignitaries.
***The Rhode Island Water Resources Board Corporate has as one of its' objectives to protect the quality and safety of the public drinking water supply by providing revenue bonding for the acquisition of properties surrounding watersheds and water supply facilities for the municipal water suppliers.
