On Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 8:30 AM, Troopers arrested Charles Pruenca, age 55, of 72 Blackburn Street, Warwick, Rhode Island, for an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant out of the State Police Scituate Barracks for 1.) Fraudulent Checks Over $1,500, an 2) Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Fraudulent Checks originating out of the West Warwick Police Department, an 3) Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Fraudulent Checks originating out of the West Warwick Police Department, a 4) Kent County Superior Court Bench Warrant for Unlawful Appropriation, a 5) Washington County Superior Court Bench Warrant for Obtaining Money under False Pretenses, and a 6) Kent County Superior Court Bench Warrant for Embezzlement over $1,500. The arrest was a result of a barracks investigation by the Scituate Barracks and members of the Violent Fugitive Task Force locating Pruenca. Pruenca was transported to the State Police Headquarters, processed and later transported to Third District Court to be presented as a probation violator.
On Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at 1:23 AM, Troopers arrested Michael Mihaich, age 33, of 4 Steven Drive, Berkley, Massachusetts, for a Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Possession of a Schedule I – V Controlled Substance originating out of the Providence Police Department. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 6 in the Town of Johnston. Mihaich was transported to the State Police – Scituate Barracks where he was processed and turned over to the Adult Correctional Institute – Men's Intake.
