At 10 :22 PM, Troopers arrested Jennifer Garnett, age 47, of 54 King Street, East Greenwich, Rhode Island for an 1.) Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Obtaining Property by False Presentences – Greater than $10,000, Giving False Document to Agent, Employee, or Public Official, and Fraudulently Obtain Public Assistance – Greater than $500 originating out of the State Police – Financial Crimes Unit and 2.) a Third District Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Pre-Trial Conference on the original charge of Fraudulent Checks originating out of the North Kingstown Police Department. The arrest was the result of an investigation by the Financial Crimes Unit and the subject being located by the Smithfield Police Department. Garnett was transported to State Police - Headquarters where she was processed and held pending morning arraignment at Third District Court.
