CRANSTON, R.I. – June 25, 2007 – A.T. Wall, II, director of the Rhode Island Department of Corrections is pleased to announce the appointment of Eamonn G. Gill as senior legal counsel, effective June 25, 2007.
Mr. Gill comes to the RIDOC from the Rhode Island Public Defender’s Office where he has served as a trial attorney since 2003. In that role he handled a caseload of over 70 indigent clients charged with both capitol and non-capitol felony crimes. In his new role with the RIDOC, he will concentrate his efforts on labor and discipline matters.
A graduate of Boston College and Boston College Law School, Mr. Gill is a member of the Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Federal Bars. Prior to joining the Public Defender’s Office, he served as a law clerk with the Rhode Island Supreme Court and as an underwriter with Amica Mutual Insurance Company.

Wall II. “He rose to the top of a qualified applicant pool, and we were particularly impressed with his experience with the Rhode Island Public Defender’s Office and his solid reputation within the state’s legal community.”
Mr. Gill assumed his duties with the RIDOC on June 25th.
