PROVIDENCE, RI- Governor Gina M. Raimondo has ordered that the Rhode Island flags at all state facilities and buildings be flown at half-staff on Wednesday, September 11 in honor of the lives lost as a result of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
"On this anniversary we remember and honor the innocent lives lost in the September 11th attacks eighteen years ago, and the courageous first responders who risked their lives to save others," said Governor Raimondo. "In their memory, we must continue to work toward creating a world free from fear, violence and hate."
Raimondo also asks Rhode Islanders to lower their flags as a mark of respect.
