This Office opened an investigation into whether the Saylesville Fire District ("Fire District") failed to post meeting minutes for several meetings. The Fire District acknowledged its failure to post meeting minutes for its December 13, 2018, January 10, 2019, February 4, 2019, March 4, 2019, and March 14, 2019 meetings. This conduct violated the OMA. See R.I. Gen. Laws § 42-46-7(b)(2). We determined that injunctive relief was not appropriate because the Fire District had since posted the meeting minutes. Additionally, this Office determined that there was insufficient evidence to conclude that the violations were willful or knowing, but admonished the Fire District that its conduct violated the OMA and may serve as evidence of a willful or a knowing violation in any similar future situation.
