PROVIDENCE, RI - In accordance with a Presidential Directive, Governor Gina M. Raimondo has ordered that the U.S. and Rhode Island flags at all state facilities and buildings be flown at half-staff on Tuesday, September 11 in honor of the lives lost as a result of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
"Today we remember the innocent Americans who were killed on September 11 and the brave first responders who put their own lives on the line to save others," said Raimondo. "In the face of horrific tragedy, our nation came together and proved that power of our spirit."
Raimondo also asks Rhode Islanders to lower their flags as a mark of respect.
