Raimondo, Coit to kick off Summer Hours at Scarborough Beach on Monday; Governor to sign Executive Order to reduce reliance on single-use plastics
PROVIDENCE, RI - The Governor's Office announced today dates for Governor Raimondo's Summer Office Hours at state beaches and parks. The first open Summer Office Hours is scheduled for Monday, July 16 at Scarborough Beach in Narragansett. The Governor will be joined by members of her Office of Constituent Services who will be available to offer assistance connecting Rhode Islanders with various services.
"There's no better way to spend a summer day in Rhode Island than at one of our beautiful state beaches or parks," said Governor Gina Raimondo. "I look forward to hosting office hours and hearing directly from Rhode Islanders at some of our state's most popular destinations."
Director of the Department of Environmental Management Janet Coit will join Governor Raimondo at Scarborough Beach on Monday. While there, the Governor will sign an executive order aimed to reduce reliance on single-use plastics that often end up in Rhode Island's waters.
A full Summer Office Hours schedule follows:
* Monday, July 16 -- Noon to 1:00 pm: Scarborough State Beach, Narragansett
* Monday, July 23 -- 11:30 am to 1:00 pm: East Matunuck State Beach, South Kingstown
* Friday, August 3 -- Noon to 1:30 pm: Lincoln Woods State Park (at the beach pavilion)
