"Today marks an important milestone, as Rhode Island has officially regained all of the jobs lost in the Great Recession. I commend the Governor and General Assembly on this progress, and I am proud to know that my administration is contributing toward Rhode Island's economic recovery.
"Treasury is working to strengthen local businesses by moving state cash to local community banks and credit unions, setting up green finance programs at the Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank - which is putting hundreds of tradesmen and women to work- and saving millions of dollars by reducing the cost of state debt.
"While it is encouraging that Rhode Island is adding jobs and our unemployment rate is below the national average, there is still much more work to be done. The recovery has not yet reached many Rhode Island families who are working longer hours for less pay. As Treasurer, I will continue to do everything I can to promote economic growth and financial stability for all Rhode Islanders."
