Percy Abbott (age 54) 63 Chestnut Street Providence, RI P1-2017-0538ADV
The Statewide Grand Jury reported out a secret indictment on March 1, 2017 charging Percy Abbott with one count of second degree murder, domestic. The indictment was unsealed this morning in Providence County Superior Court by Magistrate Patricia Lynch Harwood.
It is alleged that on or about January 9, 2016, Abbott assaulted Sherry Price Mann, resulting in her death on January 22, 2016. Abbott fled the jurisdiction after the assault. He was arrested by U.S. Marshals in New York City last month and extradited to Rhode Island.
Abbott was ordered held without bail. The Court set April 20, 2017 for a status conference.
The alleged incident took place in Central Falls and the Central Falls Police conducted the investigation.
