PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Governor Gina M. Raimondo has ordered the Rhode Island flag to be flown at half-staff at all state facilities and buildings in honor of former Senate President Pro Tempore William A. Walaska. The flag will be lowered beginning Thursday, April 6 and return to full staff at sunrise on Monday, April 10.
"As a legislator for more than two decades, Bill advocated tirelessly for people in Warwick and throughout Rhode Island," Raimondo said. "We will always remember Bill's decency and his love and commitment to serving our state and nation."
Raimondo also asks Rhode Islanders to lower their flags as a mark of respect.
