Television show aimed at giving Rhode Islander's a voice will feature the success stories of 6 local millennials
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The second episode of Lt. Governor Dan McKee's monthly television show, "Advance RI," airs this evening, Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 7:00 pm on Cox Channel 13, Verizon Channel 32 and Full Channel 49.
McKee launched "Advance RI" as part of his ongoing effort to amplify the voices of Rhode Islanders who are working to strengthen our state's small business climate, improve our public schools and create efficiency in our cities and towns. Each month, McKee hosts guests on the show who have firsthand experience in these areas.
This month's episode features 6 millennial business owners from across Rhode Island: Greg Nemes, Co-founder, Work-shop; John Perrotti, Owner, Mobility Equipment Recyclers of New England; Travis Escobar, Co-founder, Millennial Professional Group of RI; Tiffanie Clute, Co-owner, Ignite Your Life Nutrition; Nichole Pelletier, Co-owner, Crooked Current Brewery and Rob Sullivan, Owner, RDS Landscaping. They joined McKee to discuss why they anchored in Rhode Island, what challenges they face as young business owners and how Rhode Island can help.
"We've all heard the stories of young talent leaving Rhode Island. We've heard the stories that say young people cannot succeed in our state. We've even heard the stories that claim young people's voices don't matter," McKee said. "On this month's episode of 'Advance RI,' we're telling the other side of those stories. It's time for a new narrative in Rhode Island and it starts with the stories of 6 millennials who chose to make this state their home."
Episode 2 will continue to air throughout the month of November, Wednesdays at 7:00 pm on Cox Channel 13, Verizon Channel 32 and Full Channel 49 and on Cox Channel 18 and Verizon Channel 31 on Saturdays at 5:30 pm and Wednesdays at 10:00 pm.
