The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) recommends reopening Conimicut Point Beach (in Warwick) and Easton's Beach (in Newport) for swimming. This recommendation is based on results from water samples that show bacteria counts at safe levels. RIDOH had recommended that Conimicut Point Beach be closed on June 21st and Easton's Beach be closed on June 22nd because of high bacteria counts. RIDOH will continue to monitor water quality at the beach regularly to ensure safe bathing throughout the season.
