PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Governor Gina M. Raimondo has nominated Vivian L. Caruolo, Heather D. Crosby, and Timothy J. DelGiudice to the Rhode Island Board of Education's Council on Postsecondary Education. The Governor will submit their names to the Rhode Island State Senate today for their advice and consent.
"I am grateful to Vivian, Heather and Timothy for being willing to help expand opportunities for Rhode Island families by strengthening our colleges and universities," Raimondo said. "Together, we will help students build the skills that matter so that they can get the jobs that pay."
"I am extremely honored by this nomination," Caruolo said. "I welcome the opportunity to utilize my skills to further higher education in Rhode Island."
"Education is one of the most important investments we can make in our future," Crosby said. "I am excited to work with my colleagues on the Board of Education."

Colonel Vivian L. Caruolo, Esq. is a Deputy at the United States Property and Fiscal Office for Rhode Island, where she oversees daily operations. She previously served for 15 years as principle legal advisor to the Adjutant General of the Rhode Island National Guard, its subordinate commanders, the United States Property & Fiscal Officer and more than 3,500 service members, as a Staff Judge Advocate. Caruolo earned her law degree and her bachelor's degree from Seton Hall University.
Heather D. Crosby is the founder and owner of Matheys Lane Capital Management, an investment firm in Providence. She previously worked as a partner at Rex Capital Advisors, as a Vice President at J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. and as a trader and a banker at Goldman Sachs & Co. Crosby earned her MBA from Harvard Business School and her bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College.
Timothy J. DelGiudice is the Strategic Initiatives and Growth Senior Program Manager at Raytheon, a defense contractor where he has worked since 2007. He is also Chairman of the Board of the Southeastern New England Defense Industry Alliance (SENEDIA). DelGiudice previously worked for Congressman Jim Langevin and former Congressman Bob Weygand. He earned his bachelor's degree from Providence College.
Caruolo, Crosby and DelGiudice will replace John J. Smith, Jr., Kerry I. Rafanelli, Esq. and Judith Ouellette, whose terms have ended.
"I also want to thank John, Kerry and Judith for their service, and for working to improve higher education in our state. I wish them the very best," continued Raimondo.
The Board of Education is the chief policy-setting body overseeing education in Rhode Island. Through its designated powers and duties, the Board helps shape the course of public education to ensure that all of the state's students receive the best possible education. Of its 17 total members, 8 are designated to serve on the Council for Postsecondary Education.
