PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Lieutenant Governor Daniel J. McKee released the following statement Tuesday on the release of the PARCC results in Rhode Island:
"These PARCC results should serve as a call to action for all of us. Without a great public school system, our economy will continue to lag and our students will not be prepared for success in college and careers.
Let's use these scores as a reminder that all children deserve an excellent public education. We must triple our efforts to boost achievement, close achievement gaps and increase learning time. We must build on what's working, and let go of the things that are not. Now is the time to keep moving ahead with successful public education models, including the mayoral academies."
