Secretary of State Nellie M. Gorbea has been selected to participate in the eleventh annual Aspen Institute Rodel Fellowship in Public Leadership, a nongovernmental, nonpartisan educational program for men and women holding elective office at the state, local, or federal level.
Each year, the Aspen Institute selects 24 elected officials from across the country to participate in the Rodel Fellowship, a program designed to bring together elected officials who have demonstrated an outstanding ability to work responsibly across partisan divisions and bring greater civility to public discourse.
"I am honored to have been selected for the 2015 Rodel Fellowship in Public Leadership," Secretary Gorbea said. "I'm looking forward to the opportunity to learn and collaborate with colleagues from across the country on how to best empower and engage all Rhode Islanders."
Past Rhode Island Rodel Fellows include Governor Gina Raimondo, Providence Council President Pro Temp Sabina Matos and Warwick Mayor Scott Avedisian.
