PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Governor Gina M. Raimondo today announced her intent to nominate Sue Anderbois, Kari Lange, and Ian Springsteel to the Distributed Generation Standard Contracts Board. Raimondo will submit their names to the Rhode Island State Senate for confirmation.
"The Distributed Generation Standard Contracts Board sets Rhode Island on a path of leadership in renewable energy usage and green job creation," said Raimondo. "A healthy environment contributes to a growing economy. I am grateful that Sue, Kari and Ian have agreed to join this important board to further our state's environmental and economic goals."
These nominations will be replacing Christine Malecki West, Charity Pennock and Thomas Teehan from the board.
"I also want to thank Christine, Charity and Thomas for their hard work and dedication to enhancing our state's renewable energy systems and economy while they served on this board. I wish them the very best," added Raimondo.
The Distributed Generation Standard Contracts Board facilitates and promotes installation of grid-connected generation of renewable energy and encourages development of distributed renewable energy generation systems to reduce environmental impacts. They aim to reduce carbon emissions that contribute to climate change by encouraging local renewable energy projects.
