As a state office, the Rhode Island Attorney General's Office will be closed to the public on Election Day. However, the office will be staffed to accept reports of alleged violations of state election laws. As in all statewide elections, an assistant attorney general will be available to accept and review all reports of alleged violations of state election laws and will, when appropriate, refer matters to either the Board of Elections or law enforcement.
To report alleged violations of state election laws, please contact Assistant Attorney General Thomas Palombo at 401-274-4400, ext. 2296.
"Rhode Islanders must have confidence in the voting system if they are to have confidence in the government officials elected," said Attorney General Peter Kilmartin. "Working with our law enforcement partners and the Board of Elections, all allegations of election fraud will be properly investigated and when determined to have taken place, prosecuted."
