The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) announced today that the Plainfield Street on-ramp to Route 6 East will reopen tomorrow afternoon, Wednesday, July 16, 2014. The ramp was closed in early June as part of the Magnolia Street Bridge Project.
The ramp closure - as well as a temporary detour on Plainfield Street - was necessary to demolish the Magnolia Street Bridge and realign a portion of Route 6, part of an overall plan to improve safety and traffic flow in this area. Plainfield Street returned to two-way traffic on July 1.
Additional information on the on-ramp reopening will be posted to the department's website and Facebook (www.facebook.com/RIDOTNews) and Twitter (www.twitter.com/RIDOTNews) pages.
