PROVIDENCE, R.I. - As part of her Smart Money Tour, General Treasurer Gina Raimondo's team is visiting Garden City Center on Wednesday, July 16th and the South County Balloon Festival on Friday, July 18th to raise awareness about how Treasury's services can help Rhode Islanders find and save money.
Treasury's Smart Money Team will provide information about all programs including Empower RI, Unclaimed Property, Investments and Finance, and the Crime Victim Compensation Fund.
"The goal of the Smart Money Tour is to raise awareness about all of Treasury's initiatives that help Rhode Islanders," said Raimondo. "By bringing my office into the community, we are making an effort to serve all constituents in a convenient and transparent way."
Ask the Smart Money Team your questions at Garden City Center, 112 Hillside Road, Cranston, RI on Wednesday, July 16th from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. Treasurer Raimondo will be on-site at 5:30 p.m. to answer constituent questions. The Treasury tent will be located near Garden City Center's gazebo. (In case of rain, the team will be set up near the Post Office entrance inside 150 Midway Road, Cranston, RI.) Wednesday's Smart Money event will be directly followed by a free concert starring American Idol contestant and South Kingstown native Erika Van Pelt, as part of Citizens Bank's Summer Concert Series.
On Friday, July 18th, ask the Smart Money Team your questions at the University of Rhode Island Athletic fields, 500 Plains Road, Kingston, RI from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. Attendants at the festival can enjoy balloon and kite demonstrations, fireworks shows, and carnival rides while gaining knowledge about Treasury's many important programs.
