The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) will temporarily close a portion of Route 99 North between Sayles Hill Road and Mendon Road beginning tonight, Tuesday, June 24, at 7 p.m. The closure is needed to make joint repairs to the Blackstone River Bridge on the Lincoln/Cumberland town line. One lane will reopen by the morning rush hour on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, with the remainder of the road opening later in the afternoon. Motorists should expect delays during the morning commute.
Motorists are advised to follow Route 146 to Route 146A, Park Avenue, Hamlet Avenue, Cumberland Hill Road and Mendon Road, or to take I-295 to Mendon Road. Detour maps are available online at www.dot.ri.gov/detourmaps.
