The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) today announced that it launched a redesigned version of its flagship website, www.dot.ri.gov. The website, which offers several new interactive tools as well as improved access to popular features such as the state's traffic cameras, was designed to be a "go-to" online resource for local transportation information.
"We are excited to unveil this new site which, we hope, will offer a much more user-friendly experience to the public," RIDOT Director Michael P. Lewis said. "In this increasingly digital age, our goal was to create a site capable of delivering the information people need across any platform. Whether you are on a smart phone, a tablet, or a PC, you can now access timely updates on traffic conditions, learn about projects going on in your community, read about industry news, or explore the state's bike paths."
In addition to traveler information, visitors to the site will find resources for doing business with RIDOT as well as integrated news and social media feeds.
The website was developed by RIDOT in partnership with the Rhode Island Department of Administration, Division of Information Technology, the Rhode Island Office of Digital Excellence, and RI.gov – Rhode Island's web development partner.
