Amanda Lyons, DOB: 11/12/86 63 Islae of Capri Road Coventry, RI W1-2014-0096A
The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Amanda Lyons with one count of driving under the influence death resulting, one count of driving to endanger death resulting, and three counts of possession of a controlled substance being Morphine, Alprazom, and Buprenophine.
It is alleged that on or about November 23, 2013, Lyons was driving under the influence northbound on Route 1 in South Kingstown when she struck a utility pole near the entrance to the South County Commons. Passenger John Balzano, 26, of Providence, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at South County Hospital soon after. It is further alleged that Lyons was in possession of three different controlled substances being Morphine, Alprazom, and Buprenophine.
The South Kingstown Police investigated the incident. Lyons is scheduled to be arraigned in Washington County Superior Court on April 14, 2014.
