The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) is urging motorists to drive with caution tonight and into tomorrow morning. Snow squalls are forecast to continue across the state until around 8 p.m., reducing visibility and creating slippery conditions.
With black ice likely to develop overnight, RIDOT will continue to monitor roadway conditions. Given the limited amount of salt available, however, motorists should drive with reduced speeds, especially on untreated surfaces, and allow extra time for travel.
