Opportunity to Learn About How Treasury Works for You
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - General Treasurer Gina M. Raimondo today announced the expansion of her Smart Money Tour to include local libraries. The tour is designed to help Rhode Islanders learn about Treasury and raise awareness on the Financial Empowerment, Unclaimed Property and Crime Victim Compensation programs.
"Rhode Islanders should think of Treasury as a resource to learn about ways to save and find money," said Raimondo. "By bringing my office into local libraries, we are able to conveniently reach people and raise awareness about our programs."
Bringing Treasury Programs Into the Community
At each free event, Raimondo will discuss and take questions on the following programs:
Empower RI: An initiative designed to highlight the importance of understanding how to make your money work through personal financial empowerment. Some components include:
Financial Coaching Corps Collegeboundfund EverFi Payday Lending Reform
Unclaimed Property: Rhode Island has more than $200 million in Unclaimed Property and Treasury is committed to getting this money back into the hands of hardworking Rhode Islanders.
