Flood Information
RIEMA has compiled the following information for Rhode Island residents affected by the recent flooding. Residents should keep these general tips in mind as they return home or work towards recovery. In general, residents should stay away from hazardous materials, water, and propane tanks. Please follow the following safety measures. • Standing water may be unsanitary water • Do not walk or play in flood waters; Six inches of moving water can make you fall • Raw sewage and septic failure may be apparent, avoid contact if possible • Be cautious at night when it is harder to recognize flood danger • Stay away from of debris • If you see or smell anything dangerous, call 911

Report damages, and/or request information for Child Care Services, Food Assistance, and Housing/Sheltering Assistance. o Contact your insurance company to discuss your current policy.
