Providence—Lt. Governor Elizabeth Roberts, joined by state and local officials, will host a 100th Anniversary recognition ceremony on Wednesday, July 10th at 4:00 pm in the State Room of the Rhode Island State House to honor the Virginia & Spanish Peanut Company of Providence.
The Dexter Street company services the New England region, roasting peanuts on site daily and offering a wide selection of nuts, bakery, confectionery and concession supplies to area restaurants, markets, bakeries, candy and ice cream shops.
Lt. Governor Roberts and state and local officials are expected to present citations of recognition and accomplishment to grandsons Peter and Robert Kaloostian (brothers and semi-retired owners), and great-granddaughters Candace, Ellen and Shelley who continue the family legacy today. Decades-long customers and area small business owners are also expected to be in attendance.
