The Office of Attorney General found that the Cranston City Council violated the OMA during its March 25, 2013 meeting when ordinances were introduced and referred to other committees under the generic agenda item "New Business." Although R.I. Gen. Laws ยง 42-46-6(b) would have allowed the City Council to amend its agenda to add additional items to be referred to other "appropriate committees," there was no evidence that the City Council amended its agenda to add and refer items to other committees.
