The Office of Attorney General found that, in this specific instance, provisions of the Town Charter and the OMA did not conflict; thus, the Coventry Town Council violated the OMA when it failed to provide forty-eight (48) hours notice before its meeting held on April 9, 2013. See R.I. Gen. Laws ยง 42-46-6(b). This Department did not, however, find a willful or knowing violation.
