***Media Coverage Requested*** WHAT: Secretary of State A. Ralph Mollis will join Cox Communications to honor eight Rhode Island high school seniors during its 2013 Cox Scholarship Ceremony June 12. The scholarship ceremony will be hosted by Cox Communications Senior Vice President and General Manager John Wolfe. Local state Senators and Representatives are also expected to attend.
The following elite students will each receive a Cox Communications scholarship of $2,000: • Laura Antoniello, Burrillville High School • Jon Barruetabeña, Middletown High School • Cassandra Champagne, Coventry High School • Veronica Zambrano Coffie, Hope High School • Marina Eaves, Chariho Regional High School • Alexandra L. Farnum, Smithfield High School • Brenton Kreiger, North Kingstown High School • Katherine Mitchell, Rogers High School
"Each year Cox receives more and more applications from high quality, strong achievers and this year was nothing short of exceptional," said Wolfe. "Cox Communications strongly believes that education is the foundation of any thriving community and that's why we've dedicated our community outreach efforts to supporting youth and education."
Since 1994, Cox has presented more than $500,000 in scholarships to deserving high school seniors throughout Rhode Island and Connecticut.
