The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) will hold an informational meeting for the public on Monday, May 20 to unveil its plans for improvements at the corner of Old Tower Hill Road and Kingstown Road (known locally as Dale Carlia Corner) and along a segment of Kingstown Road. RIDOT design engineers will be on hand to answer questions and gather input from the public on this project.
WHAT: RIDOT to meet with local residents and business owners to review design plans for Kingstown Road improvements, including Dale Carlia Corner. The proposed improvements will provide better traveling conditions for both motorists and pedestrians. Improvements at Dale Carlia Corner include road resurfacing, minor sidewalk and curb work, and roadway restriping. RIDOT also will be resurfacing Kingstown Road from Dale Carlia Corner to the Route 1 interchange, and introducing a new traffic pattern with one lane in each direction and a center turning lane. This design has been used elsewhere in the state to reduce crashes and improve safety.
