The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) today announced that a section of Route 165 in Exeter will be closed during evening and overnight hours next week for construction. During this time, all traffic will be required to follow a signed detour.
WHAT: RIDOT will close Route 165 (Ten Rod Road) in Exeter at the I-95 overpass, approximately 0.3 miles from the intersection of Route 165 and Route 3. The closure is needed during demolition of a portion of two bridges carrying I-95 over Route 165. These bridges are considered structurally deficient and are being replaced under a $5.6 million contract with Aetna Bridge Construction. Additional overnight closures will be needed throughout the duration of the project.
WHEN: 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on May 12 - 14, 2013.
WHERE: Route 165 (Ten Rod Road) in Exeter.
DETOUR: For Route 165 eastbound, follow Arcadia Road southbound 5.3 miles into Hopkinton. Turn left onto Bridge Street, then turn left onto Route 138 East/Route 3 North. Follow Route 3 north for 5.2 miles to return to Route 165. Reverse directions apply for Route 165 westbound. Traffic on I-95 should use Exit 3 for Route 138 West, and turn right onto Bridge Street to follow the detour.
