The Statewide Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Justin Schoonmaker with one count of murder and Christopher Schreffler with one count of assault with a dangerous weapon and one count of second degree murder.
It is alleged that on or about February 25, 2012, Schreffler assaulted Michael Nigro with a flashlight during a dispute over Schreffler operating his dirt bike outside Michael Parrish's house. It is further alleged that during the altercation, Schoonmaker used his motor vehicle to run over Parrish once in reverse then a second time going forward. Parrish died of his massive blunt force trauma injuries shortly after at Kent County hospital.
The West Warwick Police conducted the investigation. Both Schoonmaker and Schreffler are scheduled to be arraigned in Kent County Superior Court on February 1, 2013
