Raymond "Chip" Hoyas Changes Plea to Nolo Contendere In Forgeries and Larceny

Attorney General Peter F. Kilmartin announced today that Raymond "Chip" Hoyas (DOB: 2/20/59), with a last known address of 162 Mt. Vernon Boulevard, Pawtucket, has changed his plea from not guilty to nolo contendere on 54 charges.

The plea of nolo contendere to 52 counts of forgery, one count of larceny over $500 and one count of obtaining money under false pretenses over $500 was entered before Superior Court Justice Kristin E. Rodgers. Sentencing is scheduled for December 14, 2012.

Pending sentencing on December 14, 2012, Hoyas remains free on $10,000 personal recognizance.

The Rhode Island State Police conducted the investigation and Special Assistant Attorney General Emily Maranjian handled the prosecution for the Office of Attorney General.
