The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Edvin Mendez with two counts of first degree child molestation and three counts of second degree child molestation.
It is alleged that on or about the dates between December 1, 2004 and June 30, 2005, and again on or about dates between December 1, 2005 and June 30, 2006, Mendez molested two girls under the age of 14, with the molestation being in the first and second degree.
The alleged molestation took place in Central Falls. The Central Falls Police conducted the investigation. Mendez is currently being held without bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on May 16, 2012.
