The Statewide Grand Jury reported out indictments charging Malcolm Jones and Jeremy Schmidt with one count of first degree robbery, two counts of using a firearm while committing a crime of violence and one count of conspiracy.
It is alleged that on or about January 19, 2012, Jones and Schmidt, along with another adult co-conspirator and two juvenile co-conspirators, conspired to commit robbery. It is further alleged that Jones, Schmidt and the two juvenile co-conspirators did rob an individual, with the robbery being in the first degree. It also alleged that firearms were used while the robbery was committed, to wit, a Daisy Powerline 201 and a Daisy Powerline 15 XT.
The alleged events occurred in East Providence and the East Providence Police conducted the investigation. Jones and Schmidt are being held without bail and are scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court before Justice Robert D. Krause on May 2, 2012.
