The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a red flag warning for all areas of Rhode Island, with the exception of Block Island, from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2012.
A red flag warning is issued when there are predictions of strong winds and low relative humidity. These conditions create the potential for fires to spread more rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended at this time.
The Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency (RIEMA) is monitoring updates from municipalities for reports of any fires.
