The RI Department of Labor and Training wants to remind local businesses that while the department does mandate the display of certain informational posters, these posters can be downloaded free of charge at www.dlt.ri.gov/lmi/business/post.htm.
The posters, which are available in English and Spanish, pertain to minimum wage, prevailing wage for federal- or state-financed construction projects, Temporary Disability Insurance, Unemployment Insurance, employment and training services, Right-to-Know laws regarding hazardous substances, the Workers' Compensation Act, and the RI Parental & Family Medical Leave Act.
While there is no law forbidding the sale of these posters to area businesses, businesses should be aware that a no-cost option is readily available.
