The Office of Attorney General was notified today that Cinderella's Bridal Salon, in West Warwick, filed a petition for receivership in Washington County Superior Court, seeking protection from creditors.
The Office has been in initial contact with the court appointed receiver, Matthew McGowan, Esq., and anticipates discussing in greater detail next week complaints filed with the Office by consumers who paid in part or in full for dresses and wedding accessories but have not received what they paid for.
To date, the Office has received approximately 50 consumer complaints. The Office is reviewing the information gathered through the complaints, and if warranted, will forward to the Rhode Island State Police for further investigation.
Consumers are encouraged to contact the Office of Attorney General, Consumer Protection Unit for additional information and to formally file a complaint. We expect additional information to be forthcoming from the receiver related to outstanding customer orders and filing claims with the receiver. Consumers may be required to file a formal complaint with the receiver.
