Devon Letourneau Found Guilty in 2010 Murder of Manuel Hilario

Attorney General Peter F. Kilmartin announced that Devon Letourneau (DOB: 12/26/91), formerly of 1000 Douglas Avenue, Providence, was found guilty by a Providence County Superior Court jury in the 2010 drive-by shooting of Manuel Hilario. Letourneau was found guilty of first degree murder, discharging a firearm while committing a crime of violence, and carrying a pistol without a license.

The verdict was handed down seven hours after the conclusion of a five-day trial that was presided over by Superior Court Justice Robert D. Krause.

According to police, the shooting involved a feud between gang members from the East Side and Chad Brown; Letourneau is from the East Side.

The victim was parked in the parking lot of Sam’s Market at the intersection of Berkshire and Admiral Streets, near Chad Brown, when he was shot in the head.

The case was prosecuted by Special Assistant Attorneys General Roger Demers and Jim Baum. Detective Angelo A’Vant of the Providence Police Department led the investigation.

Letorneau still awaits trial in another case involving a home invasion and robbery. He has been held at the Adult Correctional Institution since his arrest on August 6, 2010 and will remain there until sentencing.
