PROVIDENCE, R.I. – General Treasurer Gina M. Raimondo and South Kingstown Town Manager Stephen Alfred will meet with business and community leaders on Thursday, September 15 to discuss the economic need to achieve comprehensive pension reform.
"For our economy to thrive, we must fix the fundamentals," Raimondo said. "Until we do, Rhode Island will be less attractive for businesses to relocate or expand here. We can’t invest in the future if so much of our budget goes towards an unsustainable, poorly designed system that does not provide retirement security or taxpayer affordability."
