The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) announced today that it will close a small section of Colebrook Road in Little Compton over three days next week for resurfacing.
The 0.4 mile stretch of road, which runs between Old Stone Church Road and Route 179 (Stone Church Road), will be closed for a paving operation beginning at noon on Monday, August 22, 2011, and continuing Tuesday and Wednesday, August 23 and 24, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. At the end of each day, the road will be reopened to traffic.
Cardi Corporation is performing the work through a $1.4 million contract to resurface 1.8 miles of Colebrook Road from Long Highway to Main Street, including some side streets.
RIDOT has established a signed detour route for this closure using Old Stone Church Road and Stone Church Road. Local access will be available to residents who live along John Dyer Road.
All work is weather-dependent and subject to change.
Those with questions can contact RIDOT's Customer Service office at 401-222-2450 weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Additional information will be available on RIDOT's website (www.dot.ri.gov) and its social media sites on Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and Blogger.
