Governor Lincoln D. Chafee announced today that he has named two Rhode Islanders, Bradford S. Dimeo and Michael F. Ryan, to the Board of Directors of the Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC).
“Brad Dimeo and Michael Ryan are two outstanding citizens of Rhode Island, leaders in both business and the community,” Governor Chafee said. “Both Brad Dimeo and Mike Ryan understand the significant economic impact that T.F. Green Airport has on Warwick and Rhode Island as a whole, and both share my vision for a hub of economic development and job creation centered around the airport and an expanded Warwick Station.”
Bradford S. Dimeo
Bradford S. Dimeo is President and CEO of Dimeo Construction Company. Mr. Dimeo joined the firm in 1985, and worked in various capacities from project management to business development as well as several other roles before taking over the reins of the organization in 1996 from his father, Thomas P. Dimeo. As the third generation of his family to lead the firm's construction interests, Mr. Dimeo’s innovative style and commitment to client service have resulted in consistent growth and recognition of the organization as one of New England's leading builders and construction managers.
Mr. Dimeo’s leadership carries over into his commitment to the community. He serves as a community advisory board member for the United Way of Rhode Island, a board member for the Providence Public Library Foundation, Crossroads Rhode Island, YMCA of Greater Providence, and Providence Children’s Museum. He also serves as a trustee for The Providence Foundation, and the Rhode Island Public Expenditure Council. He is a member of the Rhode Island Commodores, the corporation of Johnson & Wales University, and is also a former member of the board of trustees of Women & Infants Hospital. Mr. Dimeo also serves on the Economic Development Task Force Executive Committee of the Rhode Island Associated General Contractors.
Mr. Dimeo attended Ohio Wesleyan University and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of Rhode Island, and is a 1996 graduate of Leadership Rhode Island. He and his wife, Kimberly, live in Barrington with their daughter.
Michael F. Ryan
Michael F. Ryan is Vice President of Government Affairs for National Grid in Rhode Island. Mr. Ryan joined the former Narragansett Electric Company in 1994. Prior to that, he served for eight years as the Rhode Island Director of the offices of United States Senator John H. Chafee. Mr. Ryan spent almost ten years in the executive branch of Rhode Island state government – first as a Legislative Assistant to the Lieutenant Governor and later as Special Assistant and Press Secretary to Governor J. Joseph Garrahy.
Mr. Ryan served as a member of the Rhode Island Board of Governors for Higher Education from 1997 to 2011; was appointed vice chairman in 2003 and honorably served until 2011. He is a member of the Rhode Island Commodores Board of Governors and the Rhode Island Economic Policy Council. Mr. Ryan serves as chairman of Boy’s Town New England. He is the former chairman of Grow Smart Rhode Island and serves on the boards of several organizations including the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce, Navigant Credit Union, Rhode Island Public Expenditure Council, Urban Collaborative and The Providence Journal Summertime Fund. Mr. Ryan is a member of the Providence College President’s Council and the Junior Achievement CEO Council.
Mr. Ryan is a 1974 graduate of Rhode Island College, a 1993 graduate of Leadership Rhode Island and was named to the Rhode Island College Alumni Honor Roll. In 2006, he was the recipient of the Alumni Service Award from Rhode Island College and in 2008, received an Honorary Degree – Doctorate of Humane Letters from the New England Institute of Technology. He and his wife, Lynne, are the parents of two grown children.

The Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC) is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of seven appointed members. RIAC's President and CEO oversees day to day operations.
The Articles of Incorporation vest the powers of RIAC in its Board of Directors; one member being appointed by the Mayor of the City of Warwick, and the remaining six members being appointed by the Governor of the State of Rhode Island. The RIAC Board Members, appointed by the Governor, serve staggered terms. The Board member appointed by the Mayor of the City of Warwick serves at the pleasure of the Mayor.
